On January 16 and 17, the 4th monitoring meeting of the STES4D project and the launch meeting of the new Sustain3 project took place at the Almería Solar Platform, in which ENEDI researchers participated. The main objective of both projects is to contribute to the deployment of thermal energy storage (TES) systems that are capable of managing heat and cold in polygeneration systems. In the new Sustain3 project, in addition, an approach based on Life Cycle Analysis, LCA, will be given to the design and operation of the equipment involved.

At the aforementioned meeting, researchers from the three centers that are part of both projects (University of the Basque Country, University of Zaragoza and CIEMAT), presented the progress made in each work package of the project, analyzing the results and next steps to be taken. In addition, an interesting visit was made to the facilities of the Almería Solar Plant, managed by CIEMAT.
